We have now taken California by storm. Our 2nd sold
out Roxy show in hairspraycity took place yesterday
and on our 5th day In the state we are now going to
San Fransisco to play for the flower people. No flowers
in our hair though, just sun in our eyes. Yep, the future
is so bright we gotta wear shades!
Damn the Compulsive Gamblers are good.

Howdy pardners!
Greetings from the wild west. It's me, Howling Pelle.
Since the last time Brother Arson wrote we have performed
the two Texas shows to huge critical acclaim. We like
Texas. We especially liked revisiting Austin. Our loved
ones can expect lots of ridiculous gifts when we get
home as we now had the time to spend some of the money
we made on the Hive gift shop during the tour. This
was a good thing as we were starting to have trouble
fitting the equipment in the van.

Hi says amazing!
The night before yesterday meaning the night of the
Austin show we immediately after the show went to see
country music extraordinaire Dale Watson and his Lone
stars. Billy Dee Donahue, Scott Matthews and Ricky Davis
they were all there and so were we. Had a great time
swinging the lurviga ones.
Right now we are somewhat passed El Paso on our way
to Albuquerque. I think I'll be able to exercise my
powers inspite of the 1360 kilometre road trip. As long
as I can stand straight I'll be a OK and the show will
be great.
Christmas is just around the corner but the The Hives
schedule sees no changes.

Hello there Hives lovers in all quarters!
This is a kick ass tour but it's a hassle finding a
computer. Today werocked the living daylights out of
Orlando, Florida. I had expected more old people and
actual gators in the audience. The few of them (old
and alligators) liked it as much as their human or younger
brother or sisterlike dancing bystander.
Right now we are on our way to New Orleans. Rockin'the
joint tomorrow. People are still coming late and therefore
missing the show that we give. I hence repeat the following:

a pleasure going swimming and playing with them. We

Back in the USA damn it.
Took a trip to England damn it to do some dirtywork
damn it. We now have gained complete control over Great
Britain damn it. We'll check in a few times the past
months to upkeep our firm grip on the island.
Before we left for England we had great shows in Detroit
and Cleveland. The Cleveland one was really great and
we also got the opportunity to meet our good friends
and collegues in The New Bomb Turks. Them guys are a
bitchin'kick ass band man (workin'on California accent
whilst I really mean it).
Right now we are on our way to New Jersey. Played Boston,
MA yesterday and things were all good.
If you are an American resident planning to see The
Hives on their current tour de force of "the new
world" you should show up early. We are playing
insanely early sometimes so it may even mean that you'll
have to take a few hours off work. We are playing either
as second or first band so now you know.

Today we entered The United States.
By air I might add. Our private jet took us to Chicago,
the windy town.
We had one night off before the first show and I'm gonna

Hi there!
Mr Guitarson here. Right now we are riding in a van,
an Canadian rented one with brown colour on the exterior
and greyish colour on the interior. It's no RAV but
it's A okay.
We left Chicago today. Chicago makes you think of songs.
We passed Kalamazoo which also makes you think of songs.
Passed the exit to something called Jackson which also
made me think of a good song. We are on our way to Detroit.
Detroit makes you think of great bands, great artists,
good songs and cars. The thinking above makes you think
of one track minds???

HEY, HEY,HEY WAKE UP!!!!!!
Thought that would get your attention. Since the American
connection seems to have been dealt with by the guitarslingers
of the band I thought I'd tell you about a week in Britain
we just had. Yes its true, the Anglo-saxons think we
are the hottest things in shoes. I dare anyone to prove
them wrong (as I'm writing this I can smell the smoke
comin out of my shoes). We are soon going back to conquer
a medium the locals there refer to as a "Tube".
Should be fun. If you possess one of these devices you
can check us out.
My appearances on this, your favourite place on the
informationsuperhighway, have not been too many lately.
But NOW thanks to mr. Matazz our chief in command of
PA systems and THE ROAD I will hopefully grace you more
often with my presence. He has a portable computer!
And it's not much bigger than your average fridge. Closing
in on Detroit now. Think I'm gonna try and get the 5
on the stereo.

Be-Ne-Lux region to play some shows. We're not seeing
anything of the Lux part of it though, which may seem
kind of wierd thinking bout the way we are used to live,

Friday. We are playing Oslo at the Öya festival
then. Then we leave for Emmaboda to let the good times

Tomorrow I embark on a great journey. My fellow
bandmates are there to accompany me as we leave for
Östersund.
We have as I have already said in a previous letter
three shows to make. As you know that means three shows
in three different towns. What you may not know is that
what it really means is that we get to meet up with
a sometimes dear and other times not so dear friend,
Mr Sven Skflygplats no less than SEVEN times in three
days.
We are hoping that he can guide us through trouble and
joy and point us in the right direction wherever we
may choose to go.

I am the progenior of postmodern society. Pretty
slick eh!
It's been too long dear fanatic followers of the The
Hives -cult. I'm sending you this letter to let you
know that my typing skills have not been damaged or
forgotten. I have just been playing the living dickens
out of this torn little body and quite frankly I sometimes
miss this computerized one way correspondence that we
have got going here.
The Hives are at large and on different locations living
the good life. But enough about the good life. How's
life in the gutter you ask. Well I can tell you this
my children, The Hives are still cutting though today's
music scene like a polished blade though mud and all
is certanly getting "weller".
On thusday we are invading Östersund. The day after
that we declare war on Karlskoga, they make guns there
so that will only serve them right to learn that my
Telecaster and the other instruments that we carry along
with the nuclearpowered throat of Howlin' Pelle is mightier
than their gunpowdersmelling old gook. The day after
that we will join forces in Piteå to rock the
northern hemisphere (which we by the way already control)
to bits and pieces once again.
When it comes to our world domination plan things are
working smoothly. We are currntly working our way west
and should hit the States sometime this fall. If I'm
not there well in time for Christmas then call me a
liar.
"Why tour the States then?", you ask if you
already control the northern part of the world. Well
the answer is that we control the norther hemisphere
but we do not unfortunately yet dominate it. There is
still a vast ration of bad music moving east at staedy
pace. We're therefore going there to kill college radio.
Simple as that. Watch out USA. Howlin' Pelle and his
ungodly following are tightening the noose and knot.
The Mighty Hives let the sun shine today as well so
go out and give your body it's fare share of sunlight.

23:40h - Nicholaus Arson is at peace with himself and
on his way home together with fellow bandmembers and
other co workers.
23:43h - The same Mr Arson that was mentioned above
has written a total of 20 words in the latest of his
letters to the digitally published diary of his.
23:45h - Nicholaus Arson is quite pleased with his intellectual
self and with what he has written so far.
23:47h - Mr N Guit-Arson is thinking back on the two
past weeks with an ego bigger than France and everything
bigger than geographic spot mentioned beforehand. Thrilling
evidence that The Hives musically have blown the roofs
off every tent and arena south of Hamburg is now out
in the open and a feeling akin to satisfaction is spreading
in the The Hives camp.
23:55h - A pretty unproductive 15 minutes has past and
the lap top computer earned a slap on the screen.
23:57h - Mr Arson is thinking back on previous tour
again. We blew Rock am ring into shreds and did the
same with Rock im park. Stole the show at Pinkpop and
gave Die Ärzte a good match on four occasions.
0:00h - Character mentioned above is putting into writing
that the last show for almost two weeks on European
turf south of Sweden was today in Munchen.
0:03h - Mr Mr Mr is signing off for now as messenger
for The Hives and continues his trip north, back home
to family and the Hultsfreds festival.
Take care and if you're a Capricorn tell her or him
that you didn't mean it and that she/he will get his
money back. You never intended to buy those magic seeds
in the first place and you could never imagine that
they would grow so fast. You have an uncle who is a
carpenter and he will fix the hole in the roof for next
to no payment at all and your other uncle who is a sportsdealer
will throw in a couple of slalom boots to make her or

HEEEEEEEELLLLOOOOOOO!
"Plaaayin in a travelling band". Yes! I started
my entry with a Creedence Clearwater Revival quote.
You wanna make something of it? Well you'd loose baby
cause tonite im on FIRE!
I've been holed up in the RAV for too many hours and
I'm smooookin. Quite the opposite of my brother above.
Sometimes I feel out of tune with my fellow giants but
then I breathe slowly and tap into our collective concience.
Ahhh! Calm, peace of mind.
We will commence to play the bejesus out of your little
mainland European selves. This is our first pack of
festival shows outside of Sweden EVER! I don't know
if it means anything but at least it's a first. I had
a birthday this week and these firsts are getting harder
to find every day. Chalk that up to experience, and
though still young I feel wiser, and a calm usually
only associated with certain types of Gregorian monks.
Well, they chant and I scream. Same shit different wrapping.
This birthday also means I have to come up with a new
opening line for the song statecontrol.
Give me shots and I'll call them.

Greetings!
Nicholaus Arsons words are in front. I'm currently on
my way down south with my fellow bandmembers and bandrelations.
We are playing some festivals and stuff in Germany and
Holland.
Today we drove from Fagersta to Malmö where we
left our RAV (still Rock Assault Vehicle) in the hands
of Randy (not the man but the band this time). They
just came home from their touring and we simply just
punched in on our shift taking over the working duty
of playing rock'n roll. On the way down we were struck
by gasoline shortage in our fueltank. It cost us a total
of 1500 swedish crowns getting outside help and also
brought us some delays in our schedule.
I think I'm sick. My throat is soare, my body is aching
and my brain is out of function, within short I'm going
to bed to achive personal health.

Hello!
This is Howlin Pelle Almqvist reporting from some well
deserved time off(most things are well deserved when
youre in this band). Its been quite a week. Thought
I'd tell you about it. It all started last thursday
when me and Vigilante decided to play some music for
the sometimes ill-informed habitants of the country
sweden. We went to a national radiostation and elbowed
in an hour of us playing quality music. This can be
heard sometime during the summer on P3. Enjoy.
On friday our friends and collegues the Savages played
Stockholm where I'm currently stationed. This resulted
in an allnighter of galactic proportions. Saturday was
spent. Just, spent. Sunday I had a feeling of hopelessness
about me and decided to have a meeting of the minds
with Bob log III. It helped clarify things. Thanks.
Tuesday i went to Berlin on a hunch. Came back Thursday
night. Friday I met my fellow geniuses and played music
in Hive manor. It had been a while. Saturday me and
Vigilante made a TV-story for the people of holland
and then played a well attended concert for the young
boys and girls of Örebro. Sunday: got sick. Still
recovering. Ahh, the tough yet fabulous life of a jetsetting
rock n roller. Its mine.

Hi again!
I seem to have got the wrong date in my last letter.
Well one day more or less won't make a difference in
this case.
Today it's raining and The Hives are recharging their
batteries. It takes a lot of electric energy to bring
this musicmachine forward.
I vividly recall that I in one of my letters wrote about
people naming their children after us. Or at least that
our names were increasing in popularity. Since of january
this year every child born in Sweden has had the middlename
Vigilante. Coincidence? I beg and plead and and call
for and at last take the chance to difffffffffffferrrrrrrrrrr.
The features of this young proud character all give
the impression that he is immortal. His tough and tender
exterior gives a hint of both sweet love and of a slightly
dangerous opulence. Serves this man well. His garboesque
shyness won't make anything of it anyway. In conclusion
I beg you to give something of value to your children,
if you have them or a plan to get some, namely a name
that will carry them through life on a silverplate.

Don't blame me!!! I'm on a break!!! I also control the
northern hemispere as you might recall.
I just called in to confirm the thesis that was brought
forward in my last letter. It's true and I doubt that
it will ever be questioned.
Apart from everything else I'm doing okay and getting
along and feeding the flame and etc.
Mark my words, I just may call my fellow giants today
and chat a bit. Small talk is good when you are initiating
rehersal which is just around the block. ( Just around
the block made me think of the Devil dogs and I seem
to have lost my Saturday night fever record if Pelle
doesn't have it. I think Once around the block is on
that one)

homepage. I bet you're all dying to know what I did
last week. I'd like to keep most of you alive so I'm
gonna tell you.
This is my week in words:
Mon: Can't remember.
Tue: Can't remember was on the tip of my tounge but
I do.
Wed: Tried to recall what I did Monday.
Thu: Saw no point in recalling what I did Monday since
I so vividly remeber Tuesday...
Fri: Flew to the north of Sweden to play in Luleå.
Met some friends of ours and alot of people we didn't
even know.
Sat: Used a Taxi, a train, a plane, another train and
a car to get back home.
Sun: Spent it in seclusion, meditating with myself.
Thought about calling the others but didn't except for
Chris.

Hi there!
This is Nicholaus Arson by the keyboard once again.
I'm sitting at the Epitaph office in Amsterdam.
We had a great show on a radiostation today. Lots of
fun. Doing another one of them in a couple of hours.
Playing tonight with Chris Bailey and Mystical, very
interesting.
Got about four shows after this one to do in Holland.
It looks like we are gonna have a great time.
We didn't win an award at the Grammys but I'm not crying.

Back in full effect Nicholaus Arson with mail.
We are playing for full houses here in Italy. "Forza
The Hives" - is the most commonly used phrase in
the Italian language as of this Friday. People are going
berzerk at the shows and I can't help but feeling a
bit guilty. We will be put on trial for stirring up
satisfactory emotions. If that's a crime then we must
be punished.
We won an award last night, "Best live band in
Sweden" is our current title. Peoples taste is
definetly improving. We will wear our golden champion
belts with "Hate to say I told you so" - smiles
when we get them. Thank you voters with clear minds.
Milano today will be no exception to the Italian rule
so far. If in Milano, Italy welcome down to Tunnel and
worship these men in black and white.

Hello all you people with endless faith in the first
and foremost finest fivesome of FA-DANG!
This is your captain speaking. We are now in Padova,
Italy and the weather is getting chillier as the sun
has gone down and the stars come out. The opening act
for the Hives are now starting up their equipment to
warm up the air in la place de festividad for the evening
. They are called Bastat.
Our heros are scattered throughout the building and
outside in the parkinglot situated tourbus. They are
tasting the local beer or reading their favourite literature,
depending on their level of intellectual concentration
for the night. They look at each other smiling as they
know that within the hour they will have these Italians
on their feet and excited out of their minds.

Hi there!
Today is the 9th I think of feb. We are in Padova and
are supposed to play here tonight. First show of the
tour in Italy.
Played last night in Switzerland in Solothurn. Played
with Canadian band the Smugglers, very nice people!
They wore black suits with white ties. Very good taste
indeed.
I'm busy now taking the world by storm so I'll get back
to you when I'm done.

New year, new month and new balls. The Hives only have
two weeks left of sitting around doing little.
We've just got the new dates for the european tour that
we're doing in February. Looks promising.
It'll be a good start on the new year taking my still
soare and aching body on yet another escapade. Almighty
RF give me strength!!!
