Ok ok ok.

Been a while. Beeeeen aaaaaaa whiiiiile.

So new year and new things to do. We stopped touring end of last year and felt a bit bruised by it I must say. Ups, downs and sideways over the world took its toll but whats not to love. You are the greatest! We had fun almost everywhere and it contained all the ridiculous antics and bright shining music that tours are supposted to contain.

Now a month into the new year we have started work on some new music. New! Music! It will probably take a while before you hear it but if you ask me things are moving along nicely so far.

Sweden is cold and a bit depressing today(hows that for a cliché) but nevertheless I feel pretty good. The Swedish grammies where yesterday. Me and Vigilante went. It wasnt all that spectacular though. We looked good though but thats about it actually.

We found an old pile of brand new white shoes at his house. You know the ones we wore in like 2000 or something. Cool shit but sweaty plastic.

Anyways, thats it for now I think. Quick poll. Who do you think should produce our next record?

Ok,

Be safe,

DO NOT GO TO DENMARK

Sure if you want to you can but don´t mind the shows listed in shows that are mostly German towns claimed by whoever is putting them on there to be in Denmark.

These towns are not in Denmark and The Hives are not as far as we know sceduled to play there.

The problem occured when someone tried to update our website.

Just give me the codes please.

Again and again

Yours truly

Nick Arson

Back in Japan!!!

The Hives are back in Japan and yours truly Nick Arson has been out on the town.

People welcomed me with open arms and they all said they would pop down to wherever we chose to play.

Right now I´m very hungry and inbetween words here I cut fruit with a big knife that has been left in my honour in my room. Convenient.

Take it easy keep it sleazy!

Keep those pictures coming!!!!

Hrrrmmph,

Sorry. Had to clear my throat. You must send pictures of the Hives to us now for inclusion on "Super special added value DVD package". You know how that goes these days. It would be greatly appreciated. Read how to in a different place on the site. Photos of you and us, us and you or us alone that is. We dont need just you. Even though we like you. It would serve no purpose on the disc.

I am learning how to drive a car. It will be key in reaching the goals we have for the Hives this fall season. Speed and agility will be of the essence and have I got both? Yes.

I was listening to some records I bought today. I like going to the store and buying cheap records. I mean LPs. Yes, like mom and dad used to listen to while concieving you. Man do the Sparks know how to whip up an album cover? Yes they do.

We are supposed to be on Hives vacation but I am not so sure I like it right now. Taking time off from the band makes me think too much of the band and when I do that I am not to be trusted. All this to the dismay of my surroundings. Sorry I am rambling and will now stop taking up your time.

My best,

THE best,

Pelle

Good morning Sunday.

Hello my friends and enemys,

I recently, last week, spent some time in Fagersta. Our old hometown. Had a film crew film us lounging in a couch. Making DVDs sure is hard work. Heard a song Randy had made and it was fucking great!

The summer has betrayed europe once again and the blade is in all our backs for all to see. Bleak weather, man. Hope yours is better. Funny thing. The Hives stop touring and the rain pours down. Coincidence? I think not. Hives active weather good Hives at home weather bad. Plan your vacation after that.

I am hungry now, gotta eat.

Vacation?

So, the Hives are not doing any shows for almost a month. Are they Lazy? Why wont they play for us?

I will tell you.

Beeing in the Hives is more than just standing onstage accepting applause for Rock. We will now go back to planning and preparing and trying to make better what is already great. Hard? You bet. Worth it? It is that too. Lets see what we come up with in the future shall we not? Yes we shall. A concert has been filmed and we need your help in bringing it to a screen near you. See other part of site for info.

I have heard of something called blogging on the internet. Basically it is what I am doing now, just more of it. Should I start do you think?

More questions than usual I am afraid but bear with me. A change is to come.

Now for a little sit on the balconie.

Cheerio!,

Hey Summer!

Well,

Last week we played the first few festivals of this summer. A much peculiar experience. Vienna, Madrid and Lisabon. Cést bon.

There where all kinds of 90s relic bands playing with us but we had a good time with the norwegian band Turbonegro. They played all three dates with us and despite having the disadvantage of the norwegian language could make themselves understood.

Vienna had a nice castle, Madrid had a heatwave and Lisabon had more miles per second than a wind tunnel. We will tomorrow embark on a journey that will take us through Dublin and the dual german festivals of Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. There we will perform after nihtfall and you will be there. We look much forward to this. Sorry. I fell last night after eating some birthdaycake and landed on my grammar.

We are trying to make a movie about the Hives. We would like to gather some footage. If you or anyone you know has filmed or taken pictures of the Hives you should contact office@hivemanor.com and reap plentiful rewards. Anything will be of interest. Only things regarding this will be answered. Nothing else.

See you soon. Pat boone.

Back in the game!

Ah!

Sweet Hives are back in the game. Festival summer has begun and we have played 4 shows so far. The most recent one a couple of hours ago right here in Dublin.

The Hives pulled thru inspite of some trouble with their short term memory and blew the crowd to smithereens.

Good music company as well. The Things.

Time for sleep. Germany tomorrow.

See you

Liverpool.

After roaming the streets and alleys of Cambridge we have now set foot upon Liverpool. The end of the UK tour is nigh. It has been a pleasure as always for everyone involved. You know, sold out and shit.

We filmed a couple aof shows a while back and we will watch it when we come home. All the Hives bootlegs we have seen kinda sucked filmingwise so there is a lot to correct and I think the black and white 5 will have to be the ones to do it. Maybe a concertfilm is in the works. How about that? It means you can sit in the privacy of your own chateau and watch a close approximation af the Hives live show on your personal home entertainment system.

Spring is here and it is the first time in a while we played Liverpool. Liverpool. What kind of name is that for a place. Pool of livers.

Things are lookin up for Hives fans and band alike as we are planning to spend some time in Hive manor seclusion working on tunes. He or she who lives this summer might hear some of it.

Til next, ta ta!/

Brighton ROCK!

Hello luvved ones, as the say around these here parts.

We have now been back on tour for little more than a week or so. I am bad w/ days. The Germans were a spectacular crowd as always. I am sure I am speaking for all the band when I thank thee, european crowd for beeing so nice to us. I mean, who could help applauding though, we have been absolutely smashing. Apart from a few mishaps.

Yesterday gay Paris showed both it´s good side and it´s bad side. Good beeing 6000 of them showing up for the gig and beeing a fun crowd to chat up afterwards. Bad beeing snooty about us not pronouncing streetnames right and ripping us of for cabfare.

On a personal note my mustasch is getting mixed reactions but it has helped me endlessly in cruising around incognito. From the eastern edge of Australia to the lanes of Brighton. Makes you wonder about the baseballcap+shades+litlledog+bigbodyguard approach. A little tango strip works better.

Nick Cave lives here but probably wont show up. Beeing in Australia and all. Shame. I like him.

I went to the royal pavillion (the seaside palace built for Georgieboy 4), The Brighton museum (had a design exibition, some good oiloncanvas and weapons from ancient cultures) and the beach. I love that sea...

Looking forward to once again turning the former empire upside down,

HPA

Weird dream...

I had a, wait for it, WEIRD DREAM tonight.

It is currently 5 in the morning in Sweden and I came home from Australia very recently. Cant seem to get my sleeping habits in order. Oh well, there are better things to do than sleeping you know.

Anyways, I dreamt that I was in a cross between an alp hotel and my room at Hive manor and the Hives had already started playing next door. Nicholaus was singing songs that he knew and they had made some new spooky sounding intro that sounded good. Presumably to play something until I could get up and sing with them.

Unfortunately I could not get my uniform on, thus, I couldnt join them. This made me feel weird. A mystery was also going on that I had to solve. A classic alp-hotel-Agatha-Christe-Hercule-Poirot mystery, you know. I was naked. Had a great body too.

The Hives launch into something that sounds like Gypsy Jazz with a bit of the Godfather theme in it but still Rock music. I got to call Randy Fitzsimmons and see if he can make that tune if I explain it to him. Songs that come to you in dreams are usually a lot worse than they sound in your head though. This is a big reason for a lot of artists and composers to do dumb things such as suicide etc. Does not bother me enough though so dont worry.

Now I ask of you. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? The word is yours...

Your singer,

HPA

Winning is easy and well deserved!

Hello people in love with us!

I´m gonna tell you a short story about the night that
made our parents proud as only a parent can be.

I´m talking about the night of the Swedish grammy
awards.

The what we in Sweden call a firmafest started pretty
early on Tuesday the 7th of Feb. It was not attended
by all of the mighty Hives but by me, Vigilante, Dr.
Matt and our babysitter Joakim + our fine looking
dates for the evening.

We had our sights set on at least one Grammy but as
you might know by now we ended up with no less than
FIVE! ugly looking things who will soon be on a shelf
in our immaculate Hive-manor.
The party as you can imagine turned out to be pretty
fun, at least for the eight of us dressed in black and
white! I wish I had a camera so I could share our fine
evening with all of you Hive-loving persons out there
but... I didn´t.

Anyways, Pelle Gunnerfeldt and Gurkan who produced
Tyrannosaurus Hives with us were probably the happiest
guys in the room when we won the "best producer"
award. I think they really wanted to win that one, and
if you ask me it was well deserved!

So until next time: Hail to the Swedish grammy jury
for having great taste in modern music...

... and thank you for reading.

/Chris Dangerous a.k.a. Chris Fivegrammy.

Our very own show!

So today is our very own concert.

Feels good to once gain play in the comfort of the dark. We decided to play a smaller venue because we always seem to miss it when we dont and since we dont tour here alot(never) we can get away with it. HA!

I am going to stay in Australia after this tour for a bit. Any tips on what to do?

Modern soft rock is for people in the western world who like things just the way they are and wouldn´t change a thing about it. Don´t act like it´s not.

HPA going away.

Sydney, Orstralia

Hello Gents and Gentettes!

Howlin Pelle here with an update. I am sometimes afraid to write you as I feel I will miss too much as too much is going on in our world. Phew! I have figured out that the way to sort this out is to write just what happens now.

We landed in Sydney today to everybodys complete joy and awe. Thanks for meeting up at the airport like we are royalty. I am beginnig to feel like we are.

This Big DayOut tour is really something. Like summercamp for lazy bands. Very nice and all but I for one am starting to feel restless. We will mend this by playing our own shows after the BDO dates thereby minimizing time off. Good.

It is otherwise a true pleasure. We were long overdue to Orstralia. We are like a soothing drink of water to the rock thirst of the natives. Also nice to meet allies new and old as: The Donnas, The Streets, The Beastie boys, Slipknot, D4 and Blues Explosion. Good times for all and everyone. I have to find something to hate or I will surely go nuts.

Son of man and woman,

HPA left the USA for Austra-li-a.

Mexico City - The Hives 10 -10

Yeah so we had to settle for a draw with Mexico City. not becuse we scored under par but because the Mexican crowd did more than well.

So congrats to Mexico City and The Hives for scoring the highest points possible for a show.

See you in Vegas

Leno tomorrow.

Take it easy
