Re: bush addresses UN

i swear did anyone else hear atleast part of what he said? i swear, i don't understand how any of them could buy any of that shit. i don't care what he says, there is nothing coming good out of iraq right now. we shouldn't even fucking be there.

ugh, it pisses me off.

Re: oi...

cellphone up there said 'care more about kicking ass than teaching class' (that's a bit of alright), and you blew off his issue. so, i'm just trying to hit your sweet spot, limbaugh.

minus my opaque bullshit, 'engineered magnet' means genocide. we're staging a protracted war--why? halliburton is too obvious (by now). destabilization? (forget fallujah--schwarzkopf ok'd their use of helicopters in the last days of the first war-->square one.) isn't part of the reason that we want to draw out as many jihadis as are willing to be shot? that's end-run genocide. (i don't have to neuter that expression, do i? i'm so piss-proud of it.)

(a-a-and sparing the few surviving mosques? that's not cowardice, and its not altruism either. come on.) maybe this thread needs to be put to bed. *looks for tv remote, bong, gun, whatever* the right holds 'standing by what they've said' to be such a cardinal virtue, there seems little point.

Re: I'm Limbaugh?

I don't see anything I've said so far as right-leaning. I've stated each time that I'm not in favor of staying in Iraq. I just think that if we're going to fight a war, we should fight it. Otherwise we're endangering our troops. If they fire from a mosque, we ought to have the right to fire back. But we don't. I don't understand this.
The way this administration is going about this war, it's almost as if they do want it to last forever. I'm not sure what the reasoning is. Could be all sorts of things. But I don't like it.
I don't necessarily see the genocide angle. If they're willing to die for their beliefs then it's bound to happen if you fight American armed forces.
Where exactly do we disagree here? We all hate Bush, but apparently only I hate Islamic fascism?

Re: ...

are you even a hives fan? yeah it's hard to belive but this is a hives forum. crawl back to the hole you came from. the reasons why the us + the coalition invaded iraq was false and wrong, yes. iraq was not a threat against the west world not as such. sadam was a cruel despot and his crimes against humanity are evil. it just sounds like you don't belive in everyones equal rights. yeah you know that about we're all worth the same. i guess that only goes with certain people. and to first fuck up iraq (even more) and then leave it to chaos is irresponsible. there already is a civil war think how it would look like if the us troops left.

Re: ...

Just how does me calling you a moron show that I can't answer an actual argument when I have THREE PARAGRAPHS OF ACTUAL ARGUMENT after the word "moron"?

Oh yeah, sure, play the age card; try and make me look simple and naive compared to the glorious five years of life you have on me. Just stick with what we're talking about, not how long we've been breathing.
And regarding your "But I have to question your own intelligence when you ask a question like Would American Christians "still hold the same values if they were raised in a Fundamentalist Islam society?" The answer is no. Because they'd be beheaded if they rejected Islam." comment, that was a RHETORICAL QUESTION. What I meant to imply is that the people are no different than any other "modern" "more fit of living in today's society" persons, they were just raised into a different mindset. In the way I've come to understand your views, you see anyone who fights back ground troops invading their hometown as a terrorist... now honestly, if you were raised in such a (though I do agree ridiculously proud) society, would you not make some attempt at fighting back soldiers from an enemy war party?

Not shooting six year olds throwing rocks at your head is humane enough for my tastes. But look, we're obviously at very different ends of the spectrum, and I guess this argument we have going here is a good representation of those views. Now, you say that my view of a peaceful reformation (though there shouldn't have been a reformation in the first place) is completely ridiculous and impossible. And I say your views of the Iraqis being a lesser people, and therefore believe they should be treated as such are inhumane. So, what are our options? 1.)We be peaceful and take our time with the matter, sacrificing much time, money, and American lives. 2.)We say "Fuck it" and leave the people, many times worse off than they were, and be hated by the world for many generations to come. 3.)We quit being pussies and kill anything that throws a rock at us, and be hated for many many many many generations to come.

So, there you have it, basically all the options that show how futile these arguments really are... I called you a moron as a verbal irony, you condescended me to kingdom come, and what did we get from it? Nothing. This war never should've happened, and there's not much else to say about it. Any way out is wrong, and that's the price the Bush administration will have to pay for such mindless/heartless decisions. So yeah, whatever. Why even fight about it? We're both wrong. And no one ever wins a goddamn argument anyway. Sorry I called you a moron, or whatever.

Oh, and I think Al Gore is the greatest of all the modern politicians, so yeah. Orgasm.

Re: midpoint

an occupation intended to provoke retaliation and bring about the deaths of jihadis fits the genocide convention. blowing up mosques buys generations of hatred and fuels recruitment (samarra, february). i don't know what parallel works for you and your sons and grandsons---killing your mom while she's at bingo, whatever.
...(argh. no jabs under the table. only politics in this thread. my comments are jack...)

enough squealing about why we're there. a dayton-style peace accord is the least distasteful exit idea floating, and doesn't bush's un address smell like this kind of teen spirit? we are urgently fucked in that he has scorched the earth in that room, so at 3K iraqi civilian deaths per month until 2008, thats...
hillary, obama, gore--any of them are starving to eat crow. even mccain seems capable of a winsome apology. *sniffs a big effing daisy*

Re: alphanick

you can just fuck off!! you know nothing.

i have friends that are muslim. and they are nothing like the terrorists or do they share the same beliefs. them and their families are very accepting and they are angry at the terrorists just as much as you or i.

and bullshit we are there for fucking democracy! if we are there for democracy, then why aren't we invading every other country that is run by dictators who massacre their own people? what about fucking africa asshole?!? if we were going to invade any country to promote democracy it should have been countries like Sudan, where the darfur genocide is happening right now or the Ivory Coast. these are places that haven't known peace or democracy. it's not the right or the duty of the U.S. to invade countries that did nothing to them to promote democracy. soon we'll be like (if we aren't already) the Soviet Union, who invaded countries to promote communism at no cost. so you can take your democracy bullshit and shove it up your ass. american isn't even a democracy, we are more like a republic.

i can't wait until bush's term is over. i don't want hilary to win either though, i think i have really lost almost all confidence in the government. they just screw everything up, all the time.

Rosemary, I don't think you read anything of what I've said carefully enough. I have said again and again that the Iraq war was a mistake, and fighting for democracy is a lie. I agree with you on all that. And I never said Muslims were less than anyone else! Unbelievable.
And somebody questioned if I was a Hives fan? Yes I am. I have a respectable Hives vinyl collection, been to 5 concerts and one TV taping where they performed. I've been posting on this board since July of 2004 (formerly DorkChop27)
I respect the point made about Iraqis being able to shoot at us. I still call them cowards and terrorists for kidnapping civilians or using human shields. You can call them freedom fighters I guess. I want out of Iraq just like all of you. But it's not cool to make me out to be an Islamophobe (I made up that term). Iraq is costing American lives and American dollars and the end product is not worth it. Now just calm down Hives lovers. Would you ever have guessed I'm a registered/voting Libertarian and probably believe in more liberty than some of you? Or do you just feel a bit more comfortable knowing me as an asshole?

anyways, this man in china got drunk and went to a zoo and tried to hug a panda, but the panda didn't think the idea was so fly so it bit him on the leg. and the man would have none of that so he bit the panda on the back. you gotta wonder which ones going to get rabies now.
