ok if you're form england you might know about this if you're not join in the discussion anyway...


theres this like thing at schools now where there must be healthier foods served at the cafeterias and stuff, y'know like more veg and fruit and they've cut down on all the crap like chips, pizza, burgers ect.

Now these women, most are the mothers of the pupils, are taking food orders form the kids through the gates, going down to the nearest fast food place or chippy, gettin the food and cramming it back through the gates to the kids.

so instead of them eating the school's food, theyre eating crap basically.

the mum's say they're doin it cos they dont agree with the food bein served and the children ahve the right to choose.

what are your thoughts on this?
should thye have the right?

i have just seen an weird example infront of my eyes some days ago. i sat in the tube and infront of me a about 25 year old girl with her boyfriend and a circa 4-6 year old girl between them.
her fucking mother was just bitching with her daughter and telling her she should not speek, should not move and should make no sound.
everytime when the kid wanted to know something like "what is this? what is that?" etc the mom got pissed and screamed at her.
the father (i expect he was) didnt do anything!
she was only talking with him and paying no attention to her daughter.
the little girl had a gorilla to cuddle in her backpack that she had on her lap. the gorilla was so big that it was looking out at her and she just started smiling and laughing and it was so cute. then she just wanted to pull the gorilla out to cuddle... when the mother saw that she started screaming again, slapping the hands of the girl and of course the kid started crying bitterly. that made me so sad.
i then started saying what the hell is wrong with her (the mother), that it is of course not my kid but that it is nearly child abuse what she is doing..and that exactly then outside/people have the right to say something to protect the kid. believe me, she felt so fucking embarrassed because of the tube was full of people and alot heard what i said and saw when she did. she was not replying but at least she noticed that i am right.
the kid was still crying and cuddling the gorilla (man...i so would have liked to go over, hold her tight and take her with me away from that stupid welfare-receiving "mother")..
the mother then gave the kid a box full of sweets..and of course the kid ate and ate and ate...... it stopped crying and the mother had now her "spare-time" with the guy she likes to fuck (sorry..haha). i would only allow one or two pieces.. but the kid nearly ate over half of the box! because there was no mom to say stop.. i after the while said to the mom if she would like that the kid throws up later..and if she doesnt think that it is too much for a kid with such a tiny tummy to eat over half a box of sweets and if she could eat so much herself. of course she didnt reply, was just embarrassed, were closing the box and trying to be very nice and slimey to the kid. of course the kid was confused. and this guy (father?) didnt do anything!!

i think thats the thing... to comfort a kid you have to give warmth and love..and not sweets and chocolate.. and if giving a kid sweets and choc then the parents have to say stop. kids have no feeling for when its enough.. they have to learn later from their experiences when they are able to understand.

you're right. I've also seen such situations many times. every time I wanna take this little kid and give it a better life with more love and warmth. And I ask myself "why do people like these have kids? For what?!".
To give a child sweets because it is crying is irresponsible!
There must be a licence for expectant parents!;-)

Yes, a child isn't really able to decide what's good and what's not but it is also a question of education and the function of the parents as role models. When they never cook fresh food and eat crap and whatever all the time the kids'll do the same. >>They don't have the possibility to choose from the beginning.

I can say I completely disagree with what they are doing!

its just plain wrong and like someone said further up there (apologies I'm not so good with names) it is infact a form of child abuse!

basically the kids are goin to end up fat, miserbale, unhealthy and more at risk to the scary facts of heart disease, high cholesteral, diabetes, shortness of breath and probably a really shitty chance in life

yes that maybe a bit over exagerated but the fcats are plain and simple, no one wants to be part of the unhealthy generation and no one wants a life where they're too unfit to even climb stairs or heack - just get out of bed!!!

bearing in mind this life will be very short lived!!!

feeding kids food that will risk their health in school should be a crime. If you feed your child arsenik you'd go to jail for child abuse/murder/attemted murder. Junk food (sugar, fat) is just a slower way of dying.
It also has the aspect of addiction. If you slipped heroin in your students food it would be frowned upon. But sugar is alright. Still addictive. Still dangerous. Still a rush.

you start school when you're around 7, depends on where in the world you live. you go to school five days a week for 12 years, depends on where in the world you live. from the age of 7 until the age of 12, which you guys apparently think is the age when you start being able to say no, you have eaten the food that has been served at school five days a week for five years. as I said before sugar, fat and salt are all addictive. also you need to taste new flavours up to 10 times before you start liking it. if a child tastes sugar one time and carrots one time it will probably go for the sugar. that's why your parents always told you to eat your vegetables at dinner even though you didn't like it. and if you refused they said: come on, just taste it. and after ten times it wasn't so bad, was it?
