Common Q: "What the f**k have you been up to, maaaaan!"

4th of December 2004

Hey hey hey! Allow me to explain.

I just thought I would give an account of what The Hives have been doing the last couple of days.

After Memphis we took off for Sauget, IL. A town apparently owned by the Saugets. The beauty of the town was breathtaking and the chemical plant was the icing on the cake. The show was great however, and The Hives enjoyed themselves royaly.

The Rogers Sisters did their last show and we all waved them goodbye.

Next day was a travel day and we got to experience Youngstown, Ohio.

Conan O'Brian was already waiting for us when we got to NYC and we played his show to the great joy of television watching americans once again. No doubt we are loved dearly by americans all over these days.

Following day read Camden, NJ. The Hives tore the place apart together with some fellow chart toppers. Camden loves The Hives from now on.

And so yesterday we had an amazing show in Columbus, Ohio. Screaming kids, screaming parents, screaming women and screaming men all brought The Hives into a cock fighting frenzy.
Joined now again by The Deadly Snakes and for the first time this tour by the mighty sounds of The Dirtbombs the night was nothing but magical. Sweat dripped from the ceiling and the sexual tension exploded in a rumbling musical orgasm at the drop of a dime. Perfect build up = perfect climax!!!

Felt great to meet up with the great New Bomb Turks again in their own hometown. They showed us Columbus hospitality by taking us out for joy at Larry's bar.

The Hives in Tennessee and so forth...

29th of November 2004

Good evening,

And now the news.

The Hives where seen in Memphis, TN last night running all over town chased by cameras and lighting equipment.

Locals where puzzled and confused and amazed. As it turns out they were beeing filmed for a series of musical shortfilms based on them by a local filmmaker called JMM. Yes, they also had time to see Graceland. Kind of like Hive manor but a bit smaller. Big garden though. Big airplanes too. We also had great food at a local deli and spent a few increasingly useless US dollars at the local record store Goner.

It was also fun meeting a bunch of friends again. After further impressing the locals with our music we went to a karaoke bar with the Rogers sisters. As a former psychology student I find karaoke fascinating. The patrons where belting out country and trash metal tunes. Odd, but a hoot all the same.

Today the Hives have come to Sauget outside St. Louis. After this we will travel to New york again to perform on the Conan O´Brien show again. We like to do that. So see you through the tube.

Oh, the weather.

The weather tonight sucks.

HPA in the USA

Austin, TX

Man OH man OH man OH man!

Last night was ace top notch and all of that.

Had a great show at La Zona Rosa and the locals all agreed with their favourite band when we proclaimed our Austin reign.

After the show we were informed that The Raunch hands were playing at the cosy little Beerland bar just a few blocks away. This was a show not to be missed.

Said and done! We together with The Rogers sisters and The Deadly snakes rushed away not to miss the show in it's full glory.

We arrived just in time to see the show start and to see them feature Steve Baise from the mighty Devil dogs on bass. It was all too good for truth.

Pelle was also invited up on stage to join them in a smashing version of their Black Jack. A song that we covered on our Barely legal record.

We all enjoyed our butts off and then went to sleep to build some energy for today's Dallas show.

Moral of the story though! Good music once again saved souls in Texas!

Time now for hygene work.

See you at the Gypsy ballroom tonight.

Later!

Thursday Nov 25th 2004 Thanksgivin´ day

So The Hives win again! It is all so easy.

Just like last time we popped over the pond people just seem to surrender to the sound and appeal of the not so blond men in black and white.

Since we last spoke we have played the living shit out of Atlanta, GA and Orlando, FL. The southerners all bowed and welcomed our return by bearing gifts and wearing tshirts with our infamous logo.

It was all a gas and The Hives enjoyed their re-takeover of the SE.

Right now we are on our way to Austin, TX for tomorrows showdown. We own that town.

See you all then

Hey again!

Last night was a hoot!

One of the best Mondays The Hives ever experienced.

Couldn't get my head around how the locals pronounced the name of their town though.

Some said it like I would, while others almost implied while saying it that there would be no sexual relations whatsoever with Virginia.

Either way is fine with me.

Talk later

Hey just thought I would shed some light on the Euro Music awards.

The Hives won 1 prize.

That´s bright enough for now.

Take it easy keep it sleazy

22nd of the same date as below.

Just thought I´d continue where I left of this morning.

Yeah we won a prize. After that we went to New York and after standing in line and answering tricky questions on Ellis island we boated into town and did two nights at Webster hall. Killed both nights and left the New Yorkers shattered and devastated that we could not stay longer and perform forever in their city that never sleeps.

(Right now Pelle is playing Dion on the stereo. Abraham, Martin and John. That guy can sing! (Dion, Pelle howls!) Did Born to cry both nights in New York)

Nevermind where was I...?

Prize, NY, killed all right!

Ok so we left New York wanting more and we are gonna do the same thing with Norfolk tonight. Their fleet will be in tears when the Swedush aramada has triumphed their way out of town after yet another killer show.

So see you tonight Norfolk and the rest of you some other time somewhere else!

Are meeting up with Deadly snakes and The Roger sisters tonight again after having Theo and The Fever open up the second night in New York. Good deal.

Utterly sincerely

Hey All,

We spent a few days in the eternal city of Rome, Italy. Met the mayor and discussed city planning. He took my ideas to heart and was curiously
interested in numbers. Had great food. Saw some cultured ass shit in the form of cathedrals and fountains and towers and pyramids and collosseums and the like. The city is litterally littered with the stuff. Had great food too. We then, yesterday, performed at the MTV Europe music awards. Hope you liked us and sat through the other stuff. Exceptions? Ok, a few. We were
also given an award at it. It was fun receeding a few celebrity hairlines a further inch or so and also to meet a bunch of people we have met before that we like. Some new ones as well. Thanks again for the praise mssr. Andre. We fly to new york now in an airplane to start a US tour intended to take us to a bunch of new places here the Hives have not yet played. Good. God.

Can I hear you say HPA?

Stuttgart, Germany to earth. Come in!

Woke up in a cold sweat. Slept 3 hrs. Need to write. Thee Band had a day off here today. Would have been nice to play insted as I truly feel we are HOT at the moment. Case in point, Vienna. We played a show outdoors there yesterday. It was late October. We were not cold.

Today at the show in Stuttgart, Germany our friends from the soul/rock band Moneybrother will visit us. I see a late night in my immediate future. We toured with them here in 98 but nostalgia sucks so lets leave it at that. I should sleep but first!

I have been thinking. The Hives may need to play some weird bills again. We love playing to our fans. You. However it would be good for band morale to have to struggle a little more for the love of the crowd. Seen a lot of comfortable bands lately. Too many. Beeing popular, which we are, is fun but we always took pride in beeing able to conquer any audience. My question is.
Where is any audience?

Good night, world. Wherever you are.

Hey hey hey!

Madrid was a royal hoot. We spent the day before hanging out in Biarritz sampling the water and eating the food. It´s been a while since a day off felt that good. I generally like playing more than not playing. Got in to a stare down with some inhabitants and checked out the 50´s chic of the old hotspot hotels. Good times! I am writing to you from a the battleship Tourbus where we have spent the last week or so. We just finished playing a set that included the Dion masterpiece Born to cry. Great song and we, true to form, did a great job with it! You can also find this on our last single as a b side. We recorded it in Soundtrack of our Lives studio in Gothenburg with Bjorn from Union Carbide Productions on the day of our last show there. It took a few hours to set up but was a quick recording. Sorry about the change of subject. MADRID! The venue was a put down adventure swimming park thing. Looked cool and new but the locals told us en espanol that it was financed with drug money and not used anymore. (A shame for the kids in the neighborhood) They seemed to be on drugs themselves some of them. The other madridians where on their best behaviour and in their best clothes.

Great to meet you again.

Sorry about the four years. There you go. See you next time!

You know, the tall singer.
