I like the hives and ive been using pandora and last fm to try and find a band like them but my searches kept on coming up with crap. i dont even like the genre the hives are in but i love the hives (if that makes any sense). Suggest a band like the hives, please im dying here.

you counld always look in the little books you get with the cds and check out which band the hives like.. they alldont sound like hives but most of them are brilliant! i think you should try Randy and 59 times the pain! two of my absolut favorite bands!

It's hard to find bands that add up to all of The Hives love for mixing punk, garage, mod, new wave, and rockabilly...these songs might impress you though, let me know if you want me to send them to you

its said that millencolin stole things from the hives in some if their songs.. well, mayeb the didnt steal, but they sound like hives in some songs.. i dont know which tho, since i hate millencolin..

the Kinks (especially early Kinks songs like All Day and All of the Night, and You Really Got Me)) a listen - everyone should anyway. :) A couple Hives songs - Main Offender and Hate To Say I Told You So - are very influenced by Kinks riffs.

Good advice on the Kinks

Instead of looking for other similar bands, look at the groups that influenced the Hives and see where they take you. I would reccomend Devo if you liked songs like Two Timing Touch & Broken Bones. Check out any Motown artist if you liked A Little More For Little You.

I disagree. The lead singer of OK GO has a similar way of singing. The music is a lot slower than the hives but there is a resemblence.

I got to thinking of OK Go doing a cover of "Love in Plaster" or The Hives covering "You're So Damn Hot"
i still think there are more differences between the bands than similarities, but the comparison is not unimaginable.
