Sorry, I just had to...
I had German-class today and we started off newly informed that it's Germanys national day and ended with a heated discussion about Hitler, flags, Soviet Union, Iron (malm, translation anyone?) transports and Sweden.

Ah... Nothing beats having a Russian girl in your German-class.

So, how did everybody celebrate the big day?

seriously my (German) German teacher don't even know how the national song goes...
there's one thing to remember Hitler but with that many people they're allowed to have some kind of national proud. for like the landscape if nothing else...

how i celebrated it?
well i didn't had to go to school so i slept till 2 pm and after that i washed my car o.O it was really dirty because i've just got it from my brother...
really i'm not very patriotic, but i'm happy this whole east and west germany thing is over cause if not i would live now in a dictatorship and not a democracy

well, i dont think you can compare that to national days in other countries. no flags, no parades, no tanks, no immense partying, no boozing.

he, c'mon they dont want us to celebrate! if so who the hell would fix a national day in october, hum? i mean they had the choice. real reunion was 9th november 1989 anyway. but they chose 3rd october since there are not so many other bank holiday in reach like in may or june - hello? so there are no celebrations with sunshine and barbecue for us. just f*cking depressing weather. pfff.

ok, all i wanted to say is that yesterday was really useful to do some work you can't manage to do on a usual day. so hail 3rd of october!

Yes. I visited my parents and some friends. We enjoyed the long weekend.
Also a kind of reunification:-)
