Yup, that's true. I just red an article in a swedish magazine about our dear HPA. I'll try too translate for you, and it says something like this:

"The Hives lead singer Pelle Almqvist has a strange behavior that's not appreciated by the party planners. He refuses to be on picture on some celebrity parties. He just shakes his head and says the same thing every time 'I'm not wearing my official clothes'. Pelle just has a regular shirt and jeans on. Does he think that it looks too proper? Does he only wanna be seen in his stage wear? As i said, strange.

but yeah.. its true.. i have another german interview somewhere from august 2004.. and there he said something similar... that his freetime he wants to spend as his freetime and not really wants to be confronted by these pressguys..and that in this time he doesnt want to wear this dress. when the interviewer asked if he only has a closet full of the same suits he said something like "yes.. i barely had time to buy normal clothings as i have only been into the music for months now"
the interviewer then asked what he wants to do in his ne next time off..and pelle said something about letting a beard grow, dressing like in camouflage and hiding in the forests. hahaha (because it got weird for them with the groupies he said even though he finds them nice and kind). haha.
