Re: PERSONAL HIVES

Why do we have something like "PERSONALS"?

There is no person who wants to write us personal things. The personal section is impersonal.
Maybe...they forgot us.....boohoohoo:.-(
...and don't tell me they're working on the new album! We all don't sleep the whole day.

Hey HIVES! Give the forum a pulse beat! Please!

Haha, it's so funny that Pelle used to be a teacher. He should have thought his brother about ending sentences correctly. I seriously cannot make out all of the sentences Nic writes. Ah, to be in his head. Genius in so many ways, but without any communication skills whatsoever.

Do you all secretly take swedish classes or what? You all seem to know so many swedish words and phrases. It's weird. We're 9 million people, going on holiday to buy groceries. Why would you ever wanna communicate with us?

haha, gris..i know that my swedish grammar is not the best... but i never really learned it much by writing.. i can better speak it than to write the shit. alot of people in sweden thought i am swedish..i dont know why..but alot of people say i speak the words and sentences properly. weird.

yeah, but what I'm asking is WHY you guys wanna learn swedish. don't get it... I guess for you it's your friends, but there seems to be so many german people learning it. maybe I'm wrong though. wouldn't be the first. ;)
hehe, you should learn some really difficult words and blow them away! :D like "frondör", stockholm didn't know what that meant but then again I don't think your friends are all 15... :p

a frondör is someone who votes for something else then what their party has decided to vote for in "riksdagen" (dunno the translation, guess it counts as a name but y'know like the parlament...).
wow, the elections are eating up my brains right now. can't think of anything else. ok, I promise I won't write anything more before monday now.

i think the question "WHY you guys wanna learn swedish. don't get it" is already answered in my last post. it was never planned to learn that language...it just happens when your most close friends are from sweden and when you lived in sweden for a couple of months. so i did. i also had a boyfriend in stockholm in 2004. i love languages anyway...expecially the weird ones like swedish, norwegish, latvia-ish, russish, island-ish... haha. okey, swedish and norwegish is different for me as its pretty often pretty similar to german which the other languages i listed are not. hahahaa.
beside all that i am singer in a swedish band with some members of slagsmålsklubben, if you know them... our band is called häxor och porr and 2 members of it live in berlin and 6 live in sweden... we mostly do music in swedish and sometimes german as well.
one more reason why i have to understand what the hell we are singing about again! :D

dang! frondör fits to the word i already learnt half a year ago: språkrör!
also a very unusual and not really used word. funny bajs!

Slagmålsklubben?! :O You're in a band with people from slagsmålsklubben? That's pretty big. My brother worships them.
Haha, språkrör and frondör. What a useless ryhme. If you put it in a song, you'll win a swedish grammy for sure.
Is the music similar to slagsmålsklubbens and where can I tell my brother to go look for it? ;)

Nothing beats a nice sentence of russish...

Dunno why I added the part from the poem. I seriously don't. But it's fun trying to pronounce it in russian.
Good luck with the band! :D

haha, yes yes..i am.. whats so crazy about it?
the band i am in is called "häxor och porr"... kim nielsson from smk is in it and sometimes björn nielsson is jumping in as well.. the brother of hannes stenström (also has his own project "din stalker", pretty good! if your brother adores smk then he will love him som fan!) is responsible for the whistling in it (as well as he is responsible for the whistling in the band called "50hertz", where also frej, björn, beebop and kim are in).. the main singer and the guy who started "häxor och porr", johan, is also sometimes jumping into "50hertz" and also did with them and "häxor och porr" the remix "army of me" for björk. i am in "häxor och porr" since winter.
we will do lots of more songs in december.. then the rest of my band is coming down to berlin for visit and then fyfan i helvetet skitfitta we are going to knock out the whole jävla globe! hahahah!

if you go to www.myspace.com/haxorochporr you can hear a song where i am singing, called "das pferdschen mit dem olympischen apfel" (translation: the ponny/horse with the olympic apple).
the first song we made ever is called "dramabananen"...
heres the link to it if you like, because we havent published it yet:
http://www.maulessite.de/caro/H%e4xor&Porr;_-_Dramabananen.mp3

enjoy! and spread the bajs! :)

ps. i PROMISE we will do a song with "sprakrör" and "frondör" in the near future!! you will hear it then and laugh your röv off! haha!
i think you are joking that we would get an grammy for it! why you think so? hahah! thats insane!

smk have played loads in berlin since they moved here exactly one year ago... half of the band moved back to sweden again because of their girlfriends and studys. frej and kim still live here in berlin, even though they tour sweden alot. its weird how whole sweden seems to know them and in germany just a few.

Why do I wanna play guitar? Why do I wanna play tennis? Why do I wanna learn chess?

Truth be told, I don't need to justify myself for learning Swedish normally.

Well, it is a lot of fun and I met many nice people. I know...that's no reason...
So, when I fell in love with The Hives and I listened to Swedish radio for the first time I decided to learn that funny sounding language. At first I learned alone with some books and CD's. It was boring. So I went to a swedish course. btw my swedish lesson starts again today:-D
I think my interest in Sweden was sleeping inside myself till The Hives waked it up. I mean, there are so many other bands I really like but I was never so interested in the countries they're coming from. And most of them are speaking english.
Yes, maybe it sounds crazy or silly, but it's true.
And I think one of my main motives was never to go to Sweden without speaking one word in Swedish.
What should I say? I like Sweden and I do it more and more. And it's all the same for me if you like your own country or not or if you understand why I'm learning swedish and why I want it or not.

Re: Winning grammies conspiracy theories 101

Wow, I feel like a music journalist now! :D
I just wish I knew what people you were talking about, so that I didn't have to feel so stupid.
Ah, I always feel stupid -keep namedropping! ;)

Yes, most of Sweden do know them. A girl in my class wore a smk t-shirt just a few days ago. It was green, looked good on her. But more importantly I don't think she would search the web or go to a nice, small, stinking club to experience new music ever, so she's a real good measurement of their status amongst the swedish youth. I will spread the Häxor och porr-word to her. :)
I really liked dramabananen, in fact I think I liked it the most out of all your songs. Not bad to strike a home run on the first
hit!

Don't think you will win a grammy?
Go to www.kent.nu click on "texter" and "awards" and learn from the master; Jocke Berg.
He has once said that he doesn't think his texts are that deep that everyone else seems to think. He just writes lyrics and then people interpretate them deeper than they are.
With that knowledge songs like Blåjeans (bluejeans, haha that's like most unecassary thing to translate ever!) aren't that genius anymore.
The thing is that swedish is a language with very few words, which means we use most of them in our daily conversations. So to make them seem poetic, or to even find an unusual word to emphasize something is really hard (hence why most swedish musicians take the easy way out and write music in english). But if you manage to, perhaps by using "new" rhymes (frondör, språkrör lol) you will be highly respected and without a doubt awarded.

Here's how you will win it:
Swedish [stockholmish] music journalists are suckers for anything that will make them seem more intellectual, so when they sit on a couch in Sodra Bar discussing Matisses dark period and hear a clever lyric sung in swedish they will without a doubt "pallra sina cheap monday-reducerade arslen" home to Södermalm and write about it on their MACs.
When they've written about it P3 Svea will be next on the uptake ("new, hip, swedish-sung electronica?!") and as we all know government financed radio is just the way to get to the youngsters. If not, internet is a good forum for spreading music, and you seem to be working that quite fine. Well, anyways (sorry, got a little sidetracked there) after the P3-kids (who also will spread the songs amongst them) and musicmag-cred the awards and sales are next.
The tricky part is that you need the sales if you want a grammy (they're just a reflection of the charts), but as long as you've been played frequently on P3 there's always P3 Guld. After P3 Guld everything previously mentioned will come again in a whole other density.
However we've just gotten a new goverment and I don't think they will finance culture at all like it's been before. That's one of the reasons why we're all greeving.
