 Hey... er... um...
I've started playing guitar lately... It's pretty fun to sit and play and make up stuff, but I think I may want to get serious. I wanna get better, so it will be easier to convince my parents to swallow a pill and get me an electric (been playing with an acoustic we have). Does anyone know where I can find some lessons on the Internet or something? I need to know EVERYTHING! Can yoouu help me out? Thanx if you can, pass along the message if you can't.

try
this website
ttp://guitar.about.com/library/weekly/aa071200a.htm
its not bad if your starting from the VERY basics...and to be honest, i think you should just learn the basics and practice for a while, then think about buying an electric guitar. acoustics are fine to learn with.

guitarist
well I also have started to play the guitar lately (my father teach me who had a rock band in high school called Air Detonator:) and he told me too that it's better to learn at first with an acoustic one!
anyway I hope you'll find a guitar!!
have you got a band yet? or why do you want to turn serious?

yeah you really should start off with acoustic. i'd say play with an acoustic for like a year. maybe you should get a couple professional guitar lessons to start off. then maybe you could be one of the very few guitar players who can actually read real music. of course it's not mandatory though..
guitar can be self taught though, so go for it.

acousitc seconded once again.
it builds up the power in your fingers for picking, coz when you go electric you'll probz go lazy and use plecs.
BUT ultimately its up to you....if you have the budget to buy a decent electric guitar AND an amp, AND the leads and what not....then go for it!

dunno
I'm just learning, so my parents won't get me one yet. I wanna get good to have something to do over the summer and maybe get good enough to start a band. Maybe I can find some other black (African American black) punk kids and start a band called the Oreos. That would be cool. What's a plec?

 plec
a plec is a plectrum - more commonly known as a pick. powerchords are fantastic and comonly used, i sugest you learn those (many hives songs use them). but also ramones and so on and so on and so on...

Where is the best?
I dunno... is there a one-stop-shop for beginner to relatively advanced guitar lessons? It would help.
