Dress up like the Hives for my 8th grade "prom" (politically correct term is "graduation dance")! Can anyone help me out by perhaps pointing out where I can get a getup like the Tyrannasaurus Hives cover? For as cheap as possible? Thanks! Viva la Hives!!

kimbobway registered: 7/16/2004 00:00 posts: 2103	i second the goodwill idea! just go to any thiftstore and see what you can find. you can always get alterations if you need them, and that would still be a lot cheaper then buying a suit. it might not be exactly like the hives suits but i'm sure you'd be able to get something together that was close enough.

Dude! C'mon, seriously. I'm a kid. I don't really have an identity of my own and I'm simply trying to do something I thought was cool. Omg. Individuality is so dead! Just because you're the first to do something doesn't mean you're the first to be the first to do something. The Hives' suits, although cool, are a gimic, something that has been done many a time over. Besides, you sound like my mon. Dude, get a life. You call yourself an "intelligent" Hives fan, which is an oxymoron considering the nature of their music. Besides, haven't you ever wanted to do something you thought was cool that you got from somewhere else. Again, get a life. I think they sell for about 2 for $3.99 down at Wal-Mart.

... i think its cool unless you are an idiot. for instance i saw people at the show in it and i though how ridiculous they looked... but at a different function representing yourself and where no one really knows what look you are going for... you look individual and awesome of course. my bro is going to prom like the hives... which is cool because its not the stereotypical tux that everyone else goes for.... i think that everyone now tries too hard to be a non conformist which in turn makes them a conformist. its a vicious cycle.

PS: Thanks for all the positive feedback and stuff. I'll try and get to work on my Hives costume as soon as I'm not overloaded with STUPID typical end-of-the-school-year-let's-make-them-suffer-some-more school work and projects.

man! i wish someone dressed up like a Hive for MY grade 8 grad!!! We need more people like Oreo 14 in the world! And union chill out. you're getting so serious now a days, let people have fun. I think it's a great idea Oreo 14. No one cool is like you at my school. Everyone thought it was cool to dress up like a pimp - yeah real original stupid people. So i say, power to you. and yeah i'd go with goodwill even though it smells rather odd in there you're bound to find something good. or just go to another thrift shop.
