 | yeh i think he meant that they rip other bands off but i don't think they do. i mean you can tell who their influences are (The Sonics, The Clash, The Stooges etc) but they sound pretty unique. Dead Quote Olympics and Antidote are amazing, i bet he's never heard those songs. And Love In Plaster, and Diabolic Scheme. They all sound like nothing else at the moment. If that makes sense. He's just a non-believer! | | posted: 4/17/2005 11:21 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | Actually..., What the guy is trying to tell you is that he can't stand you...! Don't take it too hard - and Do not take it personally,. You'll just have to write the guy off in the "Clueless" Column. Yes the hives are derivative, but besides that - they have chosen the Finest to look to for a way to Rock. And!! they have most definitely Transcended the Deriviative Label - and proven that they are Unique in this world. And what makes them unique is how much they give. That's what makes hives shows amazing. And the most amazing of all is when the Audience responds and gives back a big Roar of approval and acceptance... Or - something like that - i wanna bone ashlee Simpson how's that for changing the subject, not becaudse i like her all that much, but just because i can tell she is a super hot Fiery Furnace of Passion just waiting to explode.... | | posted: 4/17/2005 11:34 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | yeh he did say they would probably be entertaining live and i was like "yeah, duh!" i didn't argue with him i mean he is entitled to his opinion. but most music is deriative, there's not much thats totally unique unless its someone playing the same note continously for four hours or something and even thats not really "unique". but it annoys me when people cant just enjoy a good fun rock n roll band, which is what the hives are. | | posted: 4/17/2005 11:47 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | Those people... I have the same problem. Everyone around me is into all that tryhard-pop, or lookatmeimagangster-rap. When people see my CD collection... full of rock, punk, ska and generally anything alternative; they are like "what on earth are you listening too?!?!?!". But i dont care! I would rather be individual and love listening to my decent music than listening to all that other stuff just because everyone else does.
I guess thats the way it is. All those non-Hives people will never know what they are missing out on! | | posted: 4/17/2005 17:44 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |
