Effects/Equipment

Hello all

This is my first post here!

I've tried searching the board on effects and stuff the Hives use and came up with little. I'm trying to achieve Nic's sound as close as possible, this is all I got on it so far...

Standard Tele (I know he has a custom, but this is more affordable...)

Boss Wah

Hiwatts Amp (Plannin on a 30w combo)

I already have the wah, and I'm getting the tele later today, I'm so excited! Anyway it seems like theres more going on with the sound that I cant put my finger on...does anyone know of anything else??

Welcome! yeah welcome to this sorry-assd little runt of the litter bbs board. just kidding folks! there have been previous posts all about the stuff you are asking . u could try a search - but I - unfortunatrely don't know how to do that myself - so ican't advise you.
Congratulations you obviously have exquisite taste in music. the nicArson attack is fast, but not complicated. Very straight-forward actually, that's my impression. The real heart and soul of the hives sound is the rhythm section - Vigilante - dr.matt, cDanger. they grind it out. Beautiful stuff. Simple - basic rock-n-roll, just done really well, with the two wildcards - pelle and nic just going off on the rhythm section. that's my impression....
I've seen the band twice - next time around - i'm doing a caravan thing to as many shows as is humanly possible!

JennyD2005 registered: 1/29/2005 00:00 posts: 17	sdfgh what kind of wah wah pedal you using, in nme magazine it says he uses delay but not that much or it gets a bit like sustain and an envelope filter. im getting an envelope filter soon so ill check it out and tell you whats its like. i want a tele aswell but have to save up lol

JennyD2005 registered: 1/29/2005 00:00 posts: 19	no no he doesnt use sustain but uses some delay. an envelope filter is an automatic wah wah really, it means that unlike normal wah wahs u don't have to press the padel up and down all the time.
