 | you must tell how you became one too!! i first heard of the hives from the spiderman soudtrack 2 years ago (hate to say i told you so), for the next 1 and 1/2 year, never heard from them again. then end of last summer, my friends and i were at k mart, or wal mart, or some other mart and i saw Tyrannasaurus Hives and i remembered i liked that song from spiderman. So i wanted to buy the cd, but no job = no money so in oct for my b day, my former g/f bought me the cd. When i first heard it... i didn't know what to say, it was weird. All the playing and everything, i wasn't sure how i felt about it, all i knew, is that it was sooooo catchy. and by my third time listening to it, i really really enjoyed. So then in dec. came the Y100 rock festival, and the hives were there (in camden nj). and after seeing them play there, how cocky and in your face they were, i fell in love They were soo incredible, you'll never understand until you see them. the only downfall was that no one knew them, so just a hand full of people were really getting into it, but no big deal because i had fun Also Hpa was flipped off by some a hole, then HPa said he was going to kick his ass in the parking lot, so that was cool, apart from that, im still a huge fan, have the veni vidi vicious album along with Your new favorite band, DVD = sweet, they need a new one though w/ all their new stuff or old stuff... | | posted: 3/26/2005 08:34 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | Well, I've got a story about it actually... I was on a trip in Danmark with my parents and my buddy, and whenever we went to Copenhagen, on every lightpole or traffic light pole or whatever, every place you can hang em, there were these tyrannasourus Hives-stickers. You know, just like the cd-cover. And I got rather fascinated by them... I was thinking: "what kind of music would that be?" Back in Torhout, Belgium I was looking around in the cd-store, and I saw that picture on the cd-front. I was like "whoa!:-)" I started to listen to it and it was magnificant :-)

 | The Hives were on the spiderman soundtrack??? anyway yea.. the hives are the coolest especially live like when Pelle does the jacket beat, or the jump, or just plain says anything. And the awexome way Arson does that back and forth thing when he plays, and blows on his guitar pick after songs. And the way Vig hangs his mouth open and does that leg thing when he plays. And the way the Dr. tries to look like hes having to try really hard on the bass or doing the Hate to Say I Told You So solo. And the way they all get out of the way to show Dangerous playing awexomely. oooh oooh! And the BAND FREEZE is cool! thus concluding my longest post ever. | | posted: 3/26/2005 11:40 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | my story,yo! when i was 9 (in 1999) i was a huge ac/dc fan (cuz i was a cool little kid!) anyway i searched on Napster for Back and Black one day, and sincei wasnt quite familiar with all the stuff i just clicked on a song. and so i ended up with the Hives' version and i rawked out to it for at least a couple of weeks before realizing it wasnt ac/dc. So i looked up these hives and got only three new songs (AKA Idiot, Oh Lord,When How, and Closed For The Season) and i loved them... but i couldnt find their cd And when youre nine its hard to fuel a hives addiction with just 4 songs... so i became *snif dehivesenated! But lo and behold, 3 years later, I saw Hate to Say i Told u So on tv (thanx VH1) and i ripped off my pants and squeeled as i watched my hives pop back all over, and it was good! thus concluding an even longer post! | | posted: 3/26/2005 11:57 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | I was there too! I was at the FEASTival, too. I was wearing a shirt that read "I'm not here for Good Charlotte". Yeah, they rocked, but its a pity they had to shut down Y100, no?
I'm making it a point to go to every one of their shows in the tri-state area.

 | I could have been a Vines fan! AHH! I've always been into music, but never concerts really and so I decided my first real concert is going to be one to remember. I heard great things about The Fillmore in San Francisco so I went to their site and tried to buy tickets for The Vines just cuz I'd heard a couple singles from them...well the tickets sold out! I was mad so I just decided, oh I heard The Hives like 4 years ago and I liked that song (Hate To Say...) so $15 later I was going to see them live. I had no clue what I got myself into. That was August 1 '04 and since then I've seen them 5 additional times and own a very nice Hives collection of music on vinyl (cuz it rocks better than your CDs people!). | | posted: 3/26/2005 16:10 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | first time I heard/saw them live... Hello.. thought I'd just write some words on how I became a fan of the band too! I saw them live on TV as they were playing at the Quart music festival in Norway and as soon as I saw them I thought WOW what a great live band!!!! And at the same time I thought.. oh I should have been there.....
I liked the way they played live and they seemed to have very much energy on stage, it was too cool!

 | It twas the night of Aug 27, 2002 I was getting prepared for the performance of a life time, my first battle of the bands. At that point in time I was a fan of The Vines and heard that they were in a battle of the bands against some band called The Hives, all I knew was it was some scrawny wierd looking guys in black and white. I was set, the tape was in the VCR, I hit record, and I got everything!!! The preshow all the way to the postshow. Basically I went in as naive about music as one could be at 16, I did have a good background though, I was raised on the local Oldies station (lots of Beatles and Rolling Stones!!!). I ended the night with the deep desire to find my way to the local record shop and buy every record that The Hives had ever made!!!!!!! Thus the begining of an obession that is here to stay!!!!!!! Seimpre Viva Las Hives (sorry i had to use some spanish, after all i am mexican) | | posted: 3/28/2005 19:19 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | I was on a holiday/business trip in Fagersta June 2001 The company had a corporate video which featured The Hives, and I was just blown away by the energy power and from that day I was just totally hooked.

 | How I found the meaning of life I saw The Hives for the first time in the night on January, the 6th, 2002, in the local TV channel of my hometown. The video they were playing was Hate to say I told you so, and I was a fan of the song for a while, not ogf the band (They didn´t appear in any media here in Spain). But, one year later, I was doing my christmas shops in a Madrid Rock (a huge music shop like Virgin megastore) when I saw Your new favourite band ( the most accurate name of a LP ever). Well, well well, I thought, here´s this great song, and the CD costs 7 euros....No doubt! that CD became my property and I had discovered my new - and ultimate - favourite band.A Few mounths later I got Barely Legal and Veni Vidi Vicious. And finally, this year, in August, the 10th I bought this masterpiece of the twenty- first century....at least! Tyranossaurus Hives was in my hands! I went to see The hives for the first time in October, the 19th, 2004, and then I realized The Hives are THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD. When they say that, it sounds quite pedantic, but if you see them on stage, there´s no need for them to say it, you know it. You know that any other band in the world could be so great. We also saw Nicholaus making a phone call outside the Club!!!!!! ( But we were too shy, and you know, you can´t disturb a rock star when he´s calling home xD) Well, so here I am, counting the days left to see The Hives again. In exctly 59 days, I´ll see them again. Thanks god...er, I mean Thanks Howlin´Pelle.Of course, i have already my ticket...
