 Hives Live
I am planning to see the Hives in Liverpool in April and I wondered whether or not their stage show would be suitable for my 8-year-old son.

He is a big fan of the Hives but I am aware that the Hives on Kerrang could potentially be radically different to the Hives live.

I would appreciate your advice, folks.

Thanks in advance.

hmm
Well...as far as cursing goes...they don't do much of that. Every once in awhile Pelle says "ass." I don't think I've heard him say anything else...
I saw a boy that looked about 8 years old with his father in the front row at the last show I went to. I think it'll be fun, because they make eye contact and so he might get excited if they look at him :)

You just want to be careful to avoid moshers!

 Relief
Oh that's a big relief. Thanks folks.

I'm sure he'd love to go crowd surfing but I'm afraid I'd never see him again (!) so we will stay clear of the pit.

I'm really looking forward to the show now. I'll let you know how we get on in April.

Cheers.

why not...
just put them on your shoulders the whole time...that way they can see everything and you will always know where they are...

 Showtime!
It was showtime last night and what a show! Pelle and the boys were awesome! They really got the crowd whipped up and my son loved it!

We were near the front, alongside the moshers, for the support acts (The D4 are cool BTW) - I had my son on my shoulders most of the time.

But I could sense the entire front section of the crowd was going to turn into one huge mosh pit, especially when the drinkers piled in from the bar, so we went in the balcony to watch the guys. We weren't allowed to but the security guy took pity on us (thanks, son!).

It was a fantastic performance and Pelle is one hell of a showman (if a little arrogant - but that is part of his charm, I guess!).

Loved it. :-)

No photos...
.. I'm afraid but plenty of great memories!

The Blues Explosion were ok as far as musicianship goes but they were way too self-indulgent. A lot of their songs were overlong and way too complex. I think the audience felt a little alienated by them. Bit of a shame really.

It made the appearance of the Hives that much better IMO so maybe they did their job in a funny kind of way! :-)

um...
yeah... Pelle said ass several times but was relatively clean until he said "Okay little ones, it's time for, a little story...FUCK* YOU!" to some people who were being stoopid, and calling Pelle gay. But yeah...if you think its too bad, i guess you could cover his ears between songs
