How do you say 'Pelle'?!
I've been talking to people about 'Pell' but my friend seems to think you say it 'Pell-ay'.
So will someone please tell me how you say 'Pelle'?!

It's
Pelle just the way it is written, you pronounce the 'e' in the end.

And 'Almqvist' is pronounced [allmkvisst].

Arson is also pronounced the way it is written...

Americans = A.K.A idiot!
Are all americans so bad readers?? :P
Read 17 minutes reply and you will know how you say pelle Almkvist and yes its is his real name.

Nicholaus arson is (as you know) pelles brother.
Ars= Alm in swedish (Alm is a kind kind of tree! )

sorry I know my spelling isn't that good!!

Per Almqvist = Howling Pelle Almqvist
Niklas Almqvist = Nicholaus Arson
Michael Carlstrom = Vigilante Carlstrom
Mattias Bernvall = Dr Matt Desruction
Christian ? = Chris Dangerous

in every interview, he says "im howlin' pelle almqvist" pelle, like pell. not pell-ay. i think we should pronounce his name the way he does.

when i bought tyrannosaurus hives (the starting point of my love for them), i read the center page and thought it said "pete"... god, did i feel stupid when my friend read it and said "his name isn't 'pete'!"

here's a thought: maybe pelle says "pell" because that's just the way he talks. i talk really fast and sometimes i say things weirdly...just a thought, like i said...but im in with saying it however.

Amen chrmlssmn.
Is it really too far fetched to think that "pell" might be short for "pelle"?
I'm pretty sure I've heard him refer to himself as both. I hear "pell" more than "pelle" tho.

"in every interview, he says "im howlin' pelle almqvist" pelle, like pell. not pell-ay. i think we should pronounce his name the way he does."

That would also create a confusing situation considering when I saw them play 2 weeks ago, Pelle said to the crowd, "Hello, my name is Pelle (prounounced Pell-ay). Say it with me--Pell-AY." In addition, when I introduced myself to him afterwards, he said, "Hello, I'm Pelle (again, pronounced Pell-ay), very nice to meet you." The logical solution would of course be for Pell-ay-uh-eh, to make up his mind. :)

ive heard pelle say "pell" so thats how i thought it was pronounced. 17 minutes is from sweden right? so whoever that is is most likely right so yes, i will just trust that person on what they say. and just a side thought...H is for Hives, im not a stupid american, you probably wont see this or if you do think im just dumb but i just have one thing to say. its true that a lot of americans are idiots but not all of us. people keep assuming that if you are american you automatically act, think, basically are a certain way and it isnt so. there is a large majority of crappy annoying ignorant americans but i dont want to be thought of as one. sorry for the rant...

I understand what you are saying
about the reputation of Americans. It always use to irritate me that I felt as though I had to create excuses for the people of my country...but then, as my experiences in life began to unfold, I came to the realization that EVERY country has a big chunk of idiots. Every country has hoosiers, every country has conservatives or liberals, every country has murderers, rapists, child molestors, druggies, alcoholics and wife beaters. Every country has at least one gorup that wants to beat the crap out of another group. Every country teaches their own history on a bias and every country has a dirty history. Some a little dirtier than others. We all crap and we all put our pants on the same way. And now that I have wandered WAY off topic, I am going to stop there.

ok people listen up!
oviously, were not getting anywhere!!!!!!!so just pronounce pelles name the way you want!!! some people think its "pell" and some think its "pellay" so why dont you just stop arguing over it and just simply ask pelle once you meet him??isnt that a good resolution?

Man...
Never thought people could be this dumb.

Once and for all:
Pelle is pronounced with an E in the end. It's not [pell] or [pell-ay] it's PELLE.

H is for Hives:
Du. Arson betyder Mordbrand. Det finns inget som heter "Ars" på engelska.

to the american people is hard to say the "E" like in europe...ever for they the "E" pronounced "ay" i think it is the reason why they found hard to say pelle..

I'm from sweden and it's rather funny to see how the very simple name Pelle is so confusing. Of cours it's easy for me because I'm swedish and I'm going to help you as much as I can.

It's NOT Pell in any way. The e in the end of the name is, as many of you were saying, pronounced pell-ay. But it's not really like that either. If you want to say it perfect try to use the sound of the first E in every or evening at the end of Pelle. It's hard for those of who speek english but I think it's easier if you're spanish. Good luck everyone!
