usually i am against it cos its dodgy but
what if the dude in question is a loner with no friends in the middle of london who spends his life
texting you
phoning you
msn-ing you
going on web-mic
writing to you
sending you pictures
because they have next to no friends where they live.

my parents just killed me for sugesting such a thing...are they being unreasonable or is it just me?

yeah
it was my friend who met him.Hes 13. I was just going incase of anything dodgy plus to make it more interesting. I accidently let it slip....and now my parents thinnk im stupid and naive...i hate it.

It depends on the age of the people meeting and the context of how well you know each other. I flew to London two summers ago to meet someone, but he wasn't a COMPLETE stranger. He had worked for one of my friends a few years ago and she suggested that he and I email each other because we had so much in common. After talking online, writing letters and chatting on the phone for almost a year, I decided to take a little vacation to visit him. It was nothing romantic, it was a just a fun time. Of course, like I said, my friend already knew him, we had been talking for a year and I'm 26--a little older than 13. I would say as long as there are two of you and you meet this guy in a VERY PUBLIC place, everything should be fine. Just make sure to let a couple of other people (friends, family, whatever) know where you are going and who you are meeting. That's about as safe as you can make it. Hope everything goes well.

parents would kill me if i left home to meet someone that i met over the internet...um i wouildnt go by myself if i had to go and if someone was like doing things to me over the internet that was bad i wouldnt talk to him or her on the internet again..........i hate perves...........um yeah cause if i know the dude who i am gonna meet somewhere that i talk to ove the internet i would go cause i wouldve met him/her before but id still take my brother or someone
