 | I think It depends on the age of the people meeting and the context of how well you know each other. I flew to London two summers ago to meet someone, but he wasn't a COMPLETE stranger. He had worked for one of my friends a few years ago and she suggested that he and I email each other because we had so much in common. After talking online, writing letters and chatting on the phone for almost a year, I decided to take a little vacation to visit him. It was nothing romantic, it was a just a fun time. Of course, like I said, my friend already knew him, we had been talking for a year and I'm 26--a little older than 13. I would say as long as there are two of you and you meet this guy in a VERY PUBLIC place, everything should be fine. Just make sure to let a couple of other people (friends, family, whatever) know where you are going and who you are meeting. That's about as safe as you can make it. Hope everything goes well. |
