 | You've probably seen the FREE IPOD SITE, which promises to give you a FREE iPod if you complete an offer such as try Blockbuster free for two weeks, place a bid on eBay, try AOL etc.
A company called Gratis Internet has structured all this, and it's a pyramid scheme of sorts, in which you sign up, complete 1 offer, and get 5 people to sign up under your referral link, who also complete 1 offer. Once you do this, you get a free iPod in the mail (assuming your referrers are all legitimate, and that you are the only account with your address).
To tell you the truth, I was certainly cynical about this when I first heard about it.
Understandably, a lot of people are nervous about this. I mean, how could they possibly be making money giving away $300 iPods? But, even though they give away iPods to the occasional person, they are ultimately making a nice assload of cash.
When someone completes an offer, they get cash. Probably even when someone looks at an offer, they get a little cash, too. Anyway, it works for them so they can afford to ship free iPods.
The bottom line is, it works. So, GO TO THE SITE AND TRY IT HERE (yeah, I know). But, really.
I think the easiest is to sign up for blockbuster - you don't have to rent anything out, just cancel after two weeks. Or ebay - just bid on something you know you will be outbid on.
