 | I know sometimes it gets overwhelming But I am curious as to how you all found out about the what we know refer to as 9/11. I live in California so I didn't find out about it until I was waking up to go to school. I walked into the living room and the news was on, showing the first tower getting hit over and over again. Then the second tower getting hit. We were watching the live feed of it burning as well. I then heard my mom crying in the kitchen. I couldn't cry though. All I felt was numbness and shock. The rest of the day is a blur. I can remember going to school and not really doing anything all day besides watch the news. I know that this will be the question that generations to come will ask us. Just like we ask our parents, "Where were you when Kennedy was assassinated?" | | posted: 9/11/2004 10:17 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | ... I went to school, I was about 13 and I really fancied this guy and my friend went and told him. So I came home from school and my mum was trying to tell me about the world trade centre thing and I was like," i don't care, Tom found out I like him, my life is over!" And then I found out what had happened and felt really petty and self-obsessed | | posted: 9/11/2004 12:17 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | ... I was in 6th grade so the thought we were to little to handle what had happened at school. So I went home all happy and skipping and bursted into my house yelling something like "Come here everyone and listen to me talk about my wonderful day!!!!"... then I noticed my familie was watching TV and crying. So I looked to see what was on TV... it showed the collapsing buildings... I asked "Are you guys watching a sad movie or something...?"
Then I found out it was real... but I was really confused because I had never heard of the Twin Towers before and didn't know what they were and what the heck was going on. Then it was explained to me and was shocked and sad... | | posted: 9/11/2004 16:14 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | .... I was in grade 12? I think, and my friend and I were walking from school at lunch-time to get something to eat, and these construction workers were blasting a radio with news on it, and I couldn't really make out what they were saying but I felt like there was something strange going on. We walked to the store, and then my sister called my cell and said all panicky, that the world trade centre had been struck with a plane by terrorists and was falling down. I went all cold, and I told my friend who was with me, but she didn't seem much concerned (because she's not that swift in the uptake, sorry but it's true). And then I was walking around in a daze, and everywhere I looked you could tell people were freaked out, and my friend was like, "what are you so worked up about?"
Yeah, so that's my story. But it also annoys me that all over the world, nearly every day, similar things are happening in 3rd world countries and other places, and it barely warrents a tiny paragraph in the last page of the newspaper. I mean, this terrible thing happens in America, and everyone rises up in sympathy - but then there'll be a mass shooting of children in Russia or something, and people are just like, "well that sucks for them, but it doesn't really affect me." | | posted: 9/12/2004 20:39 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | yeah it didn't really bother me too much what happened on 9/11, i don't know why. i felt bad for the people's families though. what happened in russia is worse, the poor kids. plus the people in the world trade centres were surprised by the attack but the people in the school had to sit there for a while until they actually died. that would be friggin' scary. | | posted: 9/13/2004 14:17 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | ... Ok..lets not make this into some kind of contest of which country has gone through the worst terrorist attack...
It's all completely awful and terrible and sick. And I feel shocked and depressed when I hear about anything like this, no matter where in the world. | | posted: 9/13/2004 14:31 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |

 | ... I live about an hour from new york so everyone around me was in hysterics. This stuff happens all over the world, though and there is no reason why we americans should feel that it's any worse that it happened to us. | | posted: 9/13/2004 15:11 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |
