 Jet
What do you guys think about Jet? I just remember them when i saw Spiderman 2. Theyv'e got a soundtrack there. I really loved them on their first album Get Born or something. Are you gonna be my girl really reminded me about Iggy pop's lust for life. That really rocks!

They are Great
They do Rock. I've never seen them live.
I think the Vines have kinda fallen apart, too much booze too much weed too much whatever else that dood is on.
Their last show here in seattle got a scalding piss-poor review in the paper.

yeah!
The vines makes very good music. I really enjoy their work, but I actually never seen them live.
There is way to many living after Sex, drugs & Rock & Roll! Sex and rock & roll are good thgings in life, but no to the drugs! Hope i'm not the only one meaning that! :)

I'm just saying...,
I'm just saying that I think the band (Vines) kinda fell apart recently. I liked their stuff too. But they did put on a real dissappointing headlining show here in Seattle at the Moore theatre (Fantastic Venue!) with jet ( I know this post is about jet - sorry) that was a few months ago.
They came thru town one more time since then as an opening act for some "Big" band down at the tacoma dome or Key Arena, but i didn't hear anything about that.

I liked Jet at first, but now I think they're kind of trying too hard to be rock stars, if you know what I mean. They all have these perfect rock images that seem so forced, and their songs are so repetitive and traditional. There's nothing original about them.

 jet live
I saw jet live at the roseland ballroom and I thought they were great at the time. I knew about Jet a long time ago and I really thought they were awesome. Now they're getting so popular and I feel like they've just lost something that they had at first. I fear that they're going to become annoying assholes like all those nu-metal bands. Plus I saw the saw the hives since that show and it made Jet look boring ( the hives probably do that to everyone though). Nevertheless it is still refreshing to have a band in the mainstream that depends more on guitar licks than turntables and computers.

Im not a huge Jet fan, I am more into bands like Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, and Seether. I dont listen to much punk rock, The Hives are an exception of course.

well
jet sucks and the hives aren't exactly punk.

Jet is like rock n roll recycled or something. I don't think that they really bring anything new or even very good to music.

The Vines are not too bad just kinda boring next to the Hives.

Living End...
Did any of you see the other Australian band that toured with Jet and The Vines?

The Living End, they are 10 million times better than Jet or the Vines.

You should check them out!

 Jet and The Vines
I own the Jet album, and The Vines albums, and I've seen both live. I like Jet, but I rarely find myself listening to them except for Are you gonna be my girl. Their gig was ok, I probably liked the supporting band more, The Stands, whose album I bought, too.
The Vines gig was kinda great and sucked at the same time. They may be a bunch of assholes but they're fun to watch, Craig Nichols with his wacko face and all this stuff.

BUT they played only 11 songs. And that quite sucks. I mean, they had two albums, plenty of b-sides and a couple of covers. There was no encore. It looked like they didn't care much, and that's not a pleasant sensation for the people who has paid to see them.

Cheers,
Dani.

I don't...
I don't like any of these bands.

"Are You Gonna Be My Girl" simmers but never boils over. The rest of the CD is abysmal, I thought. I've NEVER liked The Vines.

As for the other bands The Hives get stuck in with - The Strokes and White Stripes....eh. Hives kick the crap out of both of them. The Strokes are sometimes catchy and mildly interesting. The White Stripes I appreciate a little more because I like old blues and Jack White rips off old blues all of the time and does something interesting (sometimes) with it. Meg sucks on drums though.

Of all the so called Rock bands I hate The Velevet Revolver the most - this is my amazon review of Velveeta Revolver:
I was perfectly willing to blame Axl and Axl only for the overblown, overproduced, supremely theatrical last G'NR records but now I know that Axl wasn't the only one who was happy rummaging through Freddy Mercury and Meatloaf's toy chests.

It's painfully clear that Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Slash deserve as much ribbing as the cucumber stuffing prima donna because Velvet Revolver is bloated rock. It is the antithesis of good rock 'n roll. Instead of being stripped down and raw, it's flabby, excessive and lumbering.

If you like early G'N R, skip this release.

 The Vines
I love the vines so much! They have to be one of the best bands ever. I've never seen them live though, and everyone I talked to who has say the suck live. Thats okay, cause the CD's rock so much. I love them and the Hives, and they are both at a tie for number one of my favorite bands. I can never really decide whom I like better. I don't think I could ever do it. It's like saying which kid is your favorite. I don't have kids, cause I'm fourteen, but it seems hard. Like, my parents will never tell my they like me the best of course. ;P

 jet and the vines
I just read an article in spin mag. that said the vines are "taking a break" (aka breakup)...the quote in the magizine is: "the band has became increasingly estranged from their notoriously stoned frontman and are no longer on speaking terms.."

as for jet, i really like them and looking forward to their next cd..any info on a new one?

i like Jet a lot. But my favorite band of all time are The Strokes. I have never seen them or Jet or The Hives in concert though. Thats because no one would come with me and i didnt want to go by myself.

I love the Stokes, even though I agree that most of their songs sound the same. But it's good sameness, so I don't care. It makes good rainy day music.
