Awesome shows!!
Just wanted to start a thread for anyone and everyone who went to either (or both) shows, and who want to share stories, links to pictures, lyrics, setlists, etc. etc. I went to both nights and had an incredible time. Thanks to The Hives for two amazing shows...this was my first time seeing them (I missed them 2 years ago at The Roxy), and I could not believe the amount of energy they had. Television broadcasts and music videos do NOT do them any justice - they really are the greatest live band in the universe. I can't wait until they're back in LA!

Setlists?
Forgot to ask...anyone have setlists for both nights? I cannot possibly remember the order of what they played...but if anyone does or has a setlist, please share! Thank you!

I went to the August 2nd show and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to next to Bowie No Doubt. I wish I could remember the setlist but they did so many!

I went to the Aug 3rd show and it reall kicked ass

And was it just me or the Walk Idiot Walk sound a bit out of tune?

I like how they all froze on Diabolic Scheme for like 5min, that fuckin rocked \../ -_- \../

For for the first encore some random dude sang in place or Pelle which was wack.

Main Offender, Hate to say I told you so and Die Alright kicked ass !!!!!

There's nothing wrong with loving their famous songs - actually nearly everything they performed was pretty famous or recent - off of their last two albums. I did LOVE the b-side they played on 8/3 - anyone remember the title? Was it "Mommy, Get Daddy?" That's how the chorus went. Never heard it before, but I loved it. It was good to hear "Here We Go Again" too. I would have died to hear some earlier stuff like "Barely Homosapien", "Untutored Youth", "Ramanda" and "How Will I Cope With That?" Probably won't get to see those songs performed live since VVV and TH are so popular now. Ah well, no prob.

Oh yeah, on 8/3 the first encore was sung by Greg Cartwright (lead singer of The Reigning Sound) with the rest of The Hives backing him up. It was pretty cool, and he looked very thrilled to be up there!

I was there!
I was there both nights...I think the first show was a bit more rowdy then the second but both shows where amazing. Monday's show was more of their new songs which was great cuz I love B is for Brutus, and the second show had more off of VVV and Barely Legal. I can't wait til October!

Oh yeah...
On tuesday...did anyone see Pelle walk right in front of the venue in front of everyone and tried to get in? I saw him and I know Christy saw him but no one else in line noticed him. He was even telling the security that he was in the band and showed him his pass to get in. It was surreal!

Christy told me that too . .
That's great! Securtiy doesn't know who's playing at the Henry Fonda . . . hmm . . . I can be their security! If that means getting up close access to bands like The Hives, then maybe . . . not enough sleep . . . maybe not!

So wait, during their LA shows on 8/2 and 8/3, did The Hives actually *announce* that they were coming back in October, or was the announcement at another show? I went to both LA shows and I didn't hear anything remotely like that, and neither did my sister...did we just miss it because we were overly excited??

Yeah
Pelle told several people at the Seattle show also that they were coming back in October... I hope it's not just another ruse of theirs.
