Hey Dose any one like the White Stripes
some of their songs sound like the Hives so if you don't like them you don't like the Hives.

I love the white stripes! I don't think the hives and the white stripes sound very similar though. But I still love them both.

i used to like the white stripes than somthing happened, i dont quite know what is, but something happened and i just dont like them anymore. and i still enjoy the hives thouroughly. the hive and white stripes are not similar at all....the hive are alot more high energy while the white stripes are bit more artsy and musical......i think it was meg that got on my nerves....oh well

I shouldn't be posting here, but hey. No, I don't like the White Stripes (Before you even think about writing it, I love the Hives enormously, and no one will ever make me think differently)...There's something about their music which thoroughly irritates me. But then again, many will think that the music I rave about is diabolical, and that is absolutely fine with me. We have to be different. Personally, I can't really see the links between the WS and the Hives...Different influences and stuff. At least they play their own instruments, which is a small mercy. I salute them for that. :)

My only objection to the White Stripes is that they're too slow. And that some of their music is a little too countrfied (like Hotel Yorba).

I enjoy the White Stripes as the band that they are, which is decidedly NOT the Hives. They're an amazing band in their own right, and their forays into other genres of music such as country westernish like Hotel Yorba is done slightly tongue in cheek and is done well. The Hives are garage punk (what have you...everyone categorizes bands differently) but the White Stripes are decidedly less brash and in your face (unless you pick a fight with Jack I guess!) and more .....general rock.

In relation to the original comment I really don't see how you can say 'if you don't like them you don't like the Hives.'!!!! I really am not that keen on the White Stripes but I LOVE The Hives!! Personally I don't see how they are so much like The Hives, for one The Hives have decent music (sorry but I think they are MUCH better than White Stripes!) And I REALLY cannot see why we can not possibly like The Hives if we don't like them! Everyone has their own taste in music! Accept it!

both the WS and the Hives are excellent bands, ill admit that Chirs Dangerous is much more talented at percssion, but Jack White brings something new to the table, emotion and soul, Nicolous Arson is very energetic and fast, both are very different but very good, and about the WS being coutnry, i agree but its important to listen and accept new music and personally i love Hotel yorba ! fun fact the hives new album comes out on my brthday!

I like
some of their songs and hate others.

For example, I like Hotel Yorba a lot but I hate that Little Appleblossom song so much.

I also saw these guys live and they were boring enough to fall asleep to.

i like them. my favourite songs are prolly fell in love with a girl, screwdriver, and hotel yorba. those are all songs i can listen to without getting sick of them. try listening to "offend in everyway" a lot, it will make you so sick of it.

overall the white stripes = good band

I'm a big fan of the white stripes...have a poster of them next to me.
They're hard to compare to the hives, but they do have some similarities. I think neumannU47 had the right idea as why they're diff.
I can't say I like one band over another, they're both good at what they do and very fun.
