 | Maybe "why do you think that swedish rock bands have come out now and are so good???" As I said, I'm not swedish at all, I'm actually french, but I heard that in sweden, music takes a special part of life, everybody play instruments since childhood or sing in choirs, is it true?

 | music well, in sweden most people start playing an instrument when they're in middle school. Usually this instrument is picked by what the kid's parents (i'm only talking from my own experience) want him/her to play. When you get a little older, let's say junior high, you and a couple of friends get together to start your a rock band. You suck major donkey c**k, but it doesn't matter, because.... it's free! everything from guitars, a place to rehearse, and amplifiers is paid for (i guess high taxes are good sometimes). It's crappy instruments but it alteast gets people started. Another reason why many people in the nordic countries involve themselves with music is due to lack of things to do during the darkest months of the year. Either you play sports or you play in a band. | | posted: 4/26/2004 10:42 | Reply | PM | Edit | IP |
