I just finished the last of my finals yesterday, so I am a very relieved and free individual until January 10th. Now I get to look forward to cleaning my apartment and doing laundry--something that has been piling up for the past two weeks. Hoo-frickin-ray.

bloodymary13 Your history tests sound like mine (the extended length, I mean) I'm a history major so I don't mind those exams, with the exception of this last final I took yesterday for my Holocaust class. The first 2 pages were simple multiple choice...no big deal. The next 3 were short answer and listing...again no big deal. Then the last 6 pages were essay questions. Then my professor asks in such a way that you can't generalize the event she's asking about. You have to list everything. It took me the entire 3 hours and I thought I was going to have to cut off my hand afterward for lack of any feeling. If I don't get an A on this final I plan on going over to my professors house and beating her over the head with my half-dead hand.

bloodymary13 registered: 7/21/2004 00:00 posts: 570	lol yeah,the test was really long and required A LOT of writing!!well maybe not as much for most people in my class because we mostly only had short answer questions and multiple choice but for the short answer questons i made them into paragraphs lmao!! and for one question:"what were the 3 reasons that resulted in the manitoba act" the answer took up half the page!

I always hate the rush for time with essay questions. You feel like you have to write everything but you don't want to run out of time. SO you write quickly and what you've written soon becomes something that resembles a non-existent language that no one, even yourself, can read. I have, in the past year or so, started writing my essay answers in fragmented sentences seperated by semicolons. It save time. It's a helpful hint, but I don't know if you can do that on your future tests. If you are in high school alot of high schools like to emphasize the ol' "write in a complete sentence" bit.

math sucks whether you have 30 minutes to do a three page test or 3 hours to do three problems. Math tests continually make me draw a blank. I will practice the problems...know them to a "T", then get the test and all I see in my brain is a blank screen (with the occasional bunny hopping along to laugh at me). Numbers are cool. Letters are cool. Throw the two together and I become a useless lump of existence.
